Presentazione Webinar in Inglese

1) ampliano i propri orizzonti culturali e linguistici;
2) sviluppano la capacità di comunicare e confrontarsi in inglese su temi accademici avanzati;

– potenziare le competenze linguistiche, migliorando la comprensione e l’espressione orale in un contesto autentico e stimolante;
– rafforzare l’internazionalizzazione dell’esperienza formativa, grazie al confronto con esperti e coetanei di diversi Paesi;

Subject: The Craic of It All: English, Identity, and Expression in Ireland
Abstract:
What happens when English travels—and stays? In this webinar, we explore how Ireland has shaped and reimagined the English language, from slang and accent to humour and storytelling. You’ll see how Irish English differs from what’s taught in class, and how language reflects culture, identity, and history. Through interactive language challenges and snippets of Irish culture, we’ll dive into real-world English as it’s spoken in the EU’s only English-speaking country.

Subject: Walking Over Fire and Ice
Abstract:. Join Anna for an exploration of Iceland's dynamic landscapes in the
webinar, "Walking over Fire and Ice." Following a five-day expedition through the region, Anna provides a first-hand account of the country’s unique geological features, from the physical demands of a glacial hike to the geothermal mechanics of its thermal spas.
You will look at the fundamental geological processes that define Iceland as the "Land of Fire and Ice." Anna details how the island’s position atop the Mid-Atlantic Ridge—the tectonic boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates—drives persistent volcanic activity and creates natural hot springs. You will also investigate the glaciology of the region, examining the formation and movement of massive ice caps that coexist with active volcanic systems. This provides a deeper understanding of the scientific forces that continue to shape this active geological hotspot.
